CAMBODIAN CULTURAL DANCE CLASS
Cambodian Cultural Dance Class is now open to students from 8 years old and over every Saturdays afternoon from 1:00 p.m to 3:00 p.m. Students will be taught the basic steps about the Cambodian traditional dance such as blessing dance, coconut dance and so much more. These activities will increase cultural appreciation and attachment and will also provide good opportunities for skills-building activities.
ESOL CLASS
The association offers English as A Second Language (ESOL) and citizenship readiness to Cambodian immigrants and refugees every Sunday from 12.00 pm to 14.00pm.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Provide orientation, information and referrals, interpretation and translation documentation, advocacy, employment and housing referrals, crisis intervention, and outreach to members of the Cambodian community in the City of Auckland on the following issues: legal, education, employment, health, housing, family violence etc. Recruitment of volunteers, training and placement of community members to support the Association activities such as fundraising,
cultural celebration and events, Cambodian New Year, community picnic etc. Also, provide support to Khmer Krom community members, the Vietnamese-decent Cambodian from Vietnam, Chinese-decent Cambodian, and Cham-decent Cambodian.
ELDERLY SERVICE PROGRAM
The purpose of the Elderly Service Program is to provide support services to Cambodian elderly. Because of language and cultural barriers, many older Cambodian are deprived of a variety of necessary resources.Through conducting needs assessments, providing appropriate referrals. The association assists the Khmer elderly community by connecting them to a variety of programs/services available in Auckland city.
